I have had an incredibly hectic few weeks, with concerts in Belgrade, Berlin and Guatemala, but things seem to be winding down for the Christmas break at last. I will be staying in Berlin over the holiday period; eating, drinking and preparing for the Femusc Festival in Jaraguá do Sul, in south Brazil. This will be the fourth time I have been to Femusc, where I teach conducting and lead concerts with various orchestras, and it is one of the highlights of my year. I am especially looking forward to the production of Carmen we will be doing, produced by Gino Quilico, and of course to seeing the wonderful faculty members and students who come from all over the world to make this festival so special.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year!
