I’ve just got back to Berlin from a wonderful (but very rainy) week in England conducting the wind ensemble of the Brandon Hill Chamber Orchestra, with concerts including works by Richard Strauss, Francaix and Mozart’s Gran Partita – possibly one of the most gorgeous pieces ever written. The start of the semester at the University of the Arts in Berlin, where I have a guest professorship for conducting, is now only a couple of weeks away, and I’m looking forward to meeting new students and working on lots of different projects at the university in the next few months.
